The history of the Ferienhotel Bergland***

TRADITIONAL HOSPITALITY OUT OF PASSION

Below, we take you on a journey through the eventful history of the Ferienhotel Bergland. Experience how a special place has grown from humble beginnings with a great deal of commitment, courage and passion. The most important milestones tell of constant development, family cohesion and the dedication with which the hotel has been shaped over generations.

All beginnings are difficult…

The Bergland was opened by Johann and Theresia Schuler in 1962 as a simple inn with just a few rooms in the Pitztal, which until then had been little developed for tourism. They were actively supported by Johann’s sister Hildegard. Over the course of time, the number of rooms was continually increased.

With a lot of passion and commitment, the hotel grew step by step. The number of rooms and beds was continuously expanded.

Things are moving forward…

A significant milestone followed in 1987 with the construction of a second hotel building. After the early death of Hans, his daughter Cornelia and her husband Gabriel took over the business at a young age. With fresh ideas and great passion, they continued the vision and continuously expanded the hotel.

A connection is formed…

A further major development was achieved in 1997: the two buildings were connected with the construction of an underground bathrobe corridor and a timelessly beautiful wellness area was created.

Passion & hard work…

With a lot of dedication and the valuable support of senior manager Resi, Bergland has become what it is today over generations: a place to arrive, feel good and come back, as well as genuine hospitality.

A stroke of fate…

Unfortunately, the family suffered another stroke of fate in the summer of 2025. After a short, serious illness, Gabriel passed away shortly before his 62nd birthday.

Broad for the future…

With a lot of energy and new ideas, junior manager Alexander and his wife Katharina are taking over the management of the traditional family business. Together with his family, he will continue to develop the traditional hotel with fresh commitment, provide new impetus and successfully shape the future of the Ferienhotel Bergland.
